EQAO:  Grade 3 students will be writing EQAO tests Wednesday, May 23rd to Thursday, June 7th.  It is important for students to attend classes during this time and arrive on time.  Please keep these dates in mind when scheduling appointments.

The Book Swap will be held this year on Friday, May 25th. Books will once again be sold for $0.25 at this popular event. We are off to a good start with donations, but are still in need of a lot books for a successful event, especially non-fiction, graphic novels, French books, and books for children ages 8-12. Medium size boxes are also appreciated. Please drop all books and boxes off at the main office by Wednesday, May 23rd. If you can help out on Friday, May 26th, please email [email protected]   Thank you!

Piano Lessons at Earl Kitchener School:  Registration is now open for in-school piano lessons at Earl Kitchener for the 2018/19 school year. In accordance with Board policy, lessons are semi-private (two students per lesson). The lessons take place during school hours, are thirty minutes long, take place once a week and are open to students from SK to Grade 5. Students must have a piano or full-sized (88 keys) keyboard with weighted keys at home in order to practice. For more information, please email Susan Chambers-Stothart at: [email protected]

Lost and Found:  Our Lost and Found keeps growing. Please remind your child to check the Lost and Found regularly. Parents are welcome to have a look before or after school as well. Eventually unclaimed items will be donated.

Vacations:  As the weather is getting warmer, please keep the office informed if your child will be leaving early or absent for extended long weekends. The office phone lines (905-528-0223) are open 24 hours a day seven days a week. We want to ensure our student’s safety at all times.

Kindergarten: Registration for Kindergarten has started. If you have a child who was born in 2014 they are eligible to register for JK. Children born in 2013 that are not already attending Earl Kitchener are eligible to register for SK. Registration forms are available on our website as well as in the office. You will need 2 pieces of ID when registering (proof of birth and proof of address). If you are unsure of what forms of ID are acceptable, please feel free to contact the office. The best time to register for Kindergarten is between the hours of 10:00 a.m. – 2:00 p.m.
