Earl Kitchener School Travel Planning – Family Travel Plan

In an initiative of Hamilton Public Health, our school is taking part in School Travel Planning (STP), an initiative of Hamilton Active & Safe Routes to School.  The objective of STP is to help improve your child’s travel to and from school. The results will help determine what changes need to be made to make it easier for children to walk and to bike to and from school.

The overall goals are to:

  • Increase the number of physically active students
  • Reduce traffic congestion around the school
  • Improve air quality
  • Create safer streets for pedestrians and cyclists
  • Increase school and community engagement

Your participation in the Family Travel Survey is voluntary, you may choose not to answer any question and you can stop the questionnaire at any time.  Please fill out the survey and send back only one survey for your eldest child.

Completed surveys should be completed by FRIDAY, APRIL 1st, 2016.

If you have any questions please contact [email protected].

Book Swap Coming This May!

Yes, you guessed it! There will be an annual Book Swap this May. To help prepare, there is a blue Rubbermaid bin in the photocopy room next to the library ready to collect your book donations.  Please bring in your used books suitable for children from JK to Grade 5.  On the day of the Swap, children will have the opportunity to buy books for 25 cents with all proceeds going to the school library.  Parents will have the opportunity to visit the Book Swap after school that day.  Please contact [email protected] with any questions.
Thank you!
