100th Anniversary Documentary Movie

We are looking for former and present students to do a five (5) minute interview that might be included in the documentary for the upcoming 100^th Earl Kitchener Anniversary.  If you are free for a few minutes any time between 9:00 a.m. and 1:00 p.m. this coming Friday, January 23rd, please feel free to drop into the school to be interviewed!  Bring your kids!  If you need more information, please contact us at [email protected].

 

 

Kindergarten Registration Begins Monday, February 2^nd

Registration will begin Monday, February 2^nd at 9:30 a.m. for families with children entering either Kindergarten (born 2010 or 2011) or French Immersion Grade 1 (born 2009).  For your convenience, please follow the link for the Student Registration Form at https://www.hwdsb.on.ca/wp-content/uploads/2013/01/Student-Registration-Form.pdf (or see attached), so it may be printed and filled out before you come to the school.  In addition to the completed registration form, the child’s birth certificate (or proof of birth), immunization information, and proof of address (hydro bill, etc.) will be needed to complete the process.  Please share this information with your neighbours as well as families new to the Earl Kitchener community.  **Please Note:  students already attending Kindergarten do NOT need to re-register for next year.**

Wear Yellow Day—Winter Walk will be held on Wednesday, February 4^th.  Let’s show Canada that Hamilton loves to walk!  Please encourage your children, caregivers, and coworkers to walk to school if they can.  Wear Yellow Day information and registration:

Parent Voice Survey 2014 / 2015

Dear Parent / Guardian / Caregiver,

We would like to invite you to participate in our annual Parent Voice Survey.  We are interested in your feedback and how we can better support you and your children at Hamilton-Wentworth District School Board.  As Parents/Guardians/Caregivers, you play a vital role in HWDSB.  Your engagement and involvement in your child’s education allows us to know your children better.  As a result, our schools become rich and positive places to teach, learn, and grow because we are partners in your child’s education.  We understand that your main contact with us is through your local school(s).  Please complete this survey with your child(ren)’s school in mind.  If you have children attending more than one HWDSB school, please select one school to focus on for this survey.  At the end of the survey, you will have the opportunity to complete the survey again for a different school.  We are seeking your views about our progress in specific areas: • Student Achievement • School Climate • Parent Communication • Parent Engagement.  The survey is available on our website at www.hwdsb.on.ca/feedback, or paper copies can be requested from your child’s school.  The survey should take 10-15 minutes to complete.  There are no right or wrong answers.  The results from all parent surveys will be grouped together and only the combined findings will be shared.  We are interested in hearing your opinions and suggestions.  Please complete the survey by Friday, February 20, 2015 at 4pm.  Thank you for taking the time to help us with this survey, and to offer input into your child’s educational experience.
