Track and Field Update

It might take a village to raise a child, but it takes a community to get a team to the Track and Field meet!

Dundana’s Track and Field team (the group of students in grades 3 to 5 who have already submitted signed trip forms) WILL be attending the meet on Monday, June 24 at Mohawk Sports Park.  However, it does mean some alterations to our original schedule.

Bus departure time will be 8:00 a.m., meaning all students attending need to be at the school prepared to leave at 7:50 a.m.  Ms. MacDonald and Mme Komar will take attendance at that time.  The bus cannot wait for latecomers, so please make sure you get there on time.

Please note that the weather, at this point, doesn’t look great for Monday.  We are hopeful that the event will still run but please watch the board website that morning for any cancellations.  If it does run (fingers crossed!) we do ask students to please bring weather-appropriate gear including a tarp/garbage bag to sit on if it does rain during the day.

Finally, we still need school board approved volunteers to join us for the day.  We require one parent (or a tag-team of volunteers) to act as a course marshall for the meet, and we also need at least three parents to join us for the day to allow for appropriate supervision ratios.  If you can volunteer in any of these capacities, please contact Ms. MacDonald at [email protected]  as soon as possible.

Thank you to all of the families who have shown an interest in helping us get our students to the Track Meet.  A very special thank you to Mr. Gelder for somehow finding an elusive bus and driver that matched up with our meet times!
