Volunteering at Chedoke

2025-2026 Chedoke Volunteers

Hello Chedoke Families,

We appreciate parents and guardians of students who would like to volunteer at the school or for school-related events. Those interested are kindly asked to begin the application steps in advance of the occasion in which they are participating, as processing times can vary.

Please note the updated HWDSB policies for volunteering and the screening process. Eligible applicants must complete the following before volunteering at Chedoke Elementary:

 Volunteer Application Package

• Review the HWDSB Volunteer Handbook
• Complete and submit the following forms. Paper copies are also available in the school office.

1. Volunteer Information Sheet
2. School/Volunteer Agreement
3. Informed Consent/Permission Form for Volunteer

 Vulnerable Sector Screening (VSS) – HWDSB-Specific

Application for a VSS must be obtained through your local police service and must be specific to HWDSB.

• VSS documents from other organizations cannot be accepted.
• This document remains the property of the volunteer, but must be presented to school office staff before any volunteer work begins.

3. Offence Declaration – Annual Requirement

After submitting your initial VSS, an Offence Declaration will be required annually for the following two years. A new VSS will be required every three years, according to HWDSB policy.
