Strong Start to Reading Program at CB Stirling – Looking for Reading Volunteers

We need YOU for an exciting reading program at CBStirling School!

Volunteers are needed to work with some of our Kindergarten and Grade 1 students who need an added boost in their reading skills.

We are excited to offer Strong Start: Letters, Sounds and Words at CBStirling School. This high-quality literacy program connects children with volunteers to practice their letters, sounds and words through games and fun activities. It has been successful in many areas across Ontarion, and fits well with our curriculum and HWDSB goals.

All of the training, materials, activities, and instructions are provided – there is no need for any prior knowledge or experience. The program is easy to use and we are sure you’ll enjoy seeing the results as the children learn!

Your commitment: 2 training sessions, followed by at least 30 minutes per week for 10-weeks (October-January and/or March-May). We will work around your schedule to make the best use of your valuable time.

Your reward: Meaningful volunteer experience which shows real results… and you may even learn a few tricks, games, and tips to help your own children become better readers!

To learn more about Strong Start, check their website – www.strongstart.ca Follow the links to Letters, Words, Sounds to register as a volunteer! Look for more information at Meet the Teacher night on Thursday, September 12.
