Math Night Gratitude
ULTIMATE MATH NIGHT SHOWDOWN!
Thank you to those families who were able to attend our first annual ULTIMATE MATH NIGHT SHOWDOWN! It was so successful! We had over 250 families attend our awesome night and they saw firsthand how math is all around us. From measuring ingredients in the kitchen to calculating distances on a road trip, math connects to our daily lives in countless ways. By exploring math together, we can help our children build confidence, problem-solving skills, and a lifelong love of learning.
Parents and guardians play a vital role in their children’s education. When families engage in learning together, students feel supported and motivated to succeed. Families left our event with creative ideas on how they can support their child’s learning and growth in numeracy.
We want to extend a big thank you to our School Council, Student Leaders, and staff leadership team Mrs. Angle, Mrs. Love Stirling, Ms. Leavens, Mrs. Arnold, Mr. King, Mrs. Donn, Mrs. Pidberezny, and Mrs. Birkby! Without their leadership, this amazing community event would not have been possible!
We know how busy daily life can be after school hours! If you can find ways to integrate math learning skills into daily chats that are bite size and connected to real life, it will go such a long way for your child, e.g. car rides to activities can include chats about time, portioning treats amongst friends, amount of food measured for the dog, etc.
Thank you so much for all of your support at home!
Mrs. S. Milinovich
