Evacuation Communication- April 23rd

Dear Families, 

 This letter is to inform you that we had reports of an irregular odour in the school’s daycare today, which resulted in an evacuation.   

 Due to a power outage, the back-up power unit that contained a faulted battery emitted an odour. An announcement was promptly made and all students and staff safely evacuated the school at 9:30 a.m.  

 The Fire department was alerted and quickly arrived at the school. They located and removed the faulted battery and all students and staff returned safely back into school at 10:20 a.m., at which time the power also came back on. 

 Student safety is of the utmost importance to us at Bellmoore Elementary School. If you have any questions, please don’t hesitate to contact the school directly.
