Code of Conduct for Spectators at all
Hamilton‐Wentworth Interscholastic Athletic Events
HWDSB is committed to providing a safe and inclusive environment that is free of violence, abuse and harassment. Everyone is welcome and should expect to help promote environment where people are
treated in a courteous, professional, considerate and respectful manner by all spectators, staff and
participants.
Accordingly, in alignment with the Ontario Safe Schools Act, HWDSB has a zero-tolerance policy and will not tolerate unsafe, abusive, unlawful or offensive conduct at our events.
The Spectator Code of Conduct reminds spectators to:
● Cheer in a positive manner
● Respect officials’ decisions
● Not interfere with the competition
● Keep off of the playing area
●Be courteous and respectful
Failure to comply with the Code of Conduct for Spectators may lead to ejection and/or penalties (list found on HWDSB Athletics).
*Please note that all spectators under the age of 18 must be accompanied by an adult relative, to attend interscholastic athletic events.
