Balaclava School Update – March 8 to 21

We’ve made it to March break! We wish all of our students and families a wonderful week away from school March 10 to 14th. School will resume on the regular schedule on March 17th.

Calling all 2020/2021 PreSchoolers!

Upcoming Movie Night

The Balaclava EcoClub are hosting a movie night on Thursday March 27th from 5 p.m. to 7 p.m. We’ll be watching Clifford the Big Red Dog. Order your admission/snack tickets before it closes on March 20th. School-aged children are welcome to attend with or without their parents/guardians! Our school staff volunteers will be supervising. All money raised will go to support our Eco-Team’s pollinator garden that will be developed this spring.

Basketball

Our Junior Girls and Junior Boys Basketball teams start their games against other schools the week of March 17th. Both teams have games on the 18th and 20th. Good luck to all of our players.

Personal Device/Cell Phone Reminder

At the beginning of this school year, the Ministry of Education and HWDSB policy changed to restrict K-8 student use of personal devices (phones, tablets, wearable tech such as air pods or smart watches) during the school day, including nutrition breaks. If students are bringing a personal device to school, they are reminded that it is to remain powered down/turned off and be out of sight from 9:15 to 3:35 each day.
