Short Story Contest at Balaclava

Calling all Balaclava student writers! Balaclava is holding a creative writing contest this month. Students in every grade have the opportunity to write a short piece of writing of any genre.

We ask that submissions be limited to two pages. This should be entirely student-generated work. Each student is permitted one submission.

This is completely voluntary and not tied to student grades.

Submissions are due to the school office on April 23rd.

A group of judges will look at the submissions and choose the top three submissions in each of the following categories:

Kindergarten to Grade 2

Grade 3 to Grade 5

Grade 6 to Grade 8

The top submissions from each category will be shared with all of our classes to read on April 26th when we celebrate all things literary school wide, in conjunction with World Book Day.

If your child loves to create stories and other pieces of writing, please encourage them to get writing and enter the contest.
