December 7th Updates

At Balaclava we aspire to make the world a better place through informed, responsible and compassionate action. Our Student Council has partnered with the HWDSB Department of Social Work to assist in the preparation of Holiday Hampers for HWDSB families. We are inviting our community to donate grocery store (No Frills, Food Basics, Walmart) and/or restaurant gift cards ($5-$25). These will be added to the holiday hampers for families to be able to do some of their own shopping. If you would like to contribute please send in your gift card donation to your child’s teacher. Thank you for helping us to make a positive difference for others.

Leading up to winter holidays we will be distributing Rapid Antigen Test kits to every child. There are 5 tests in each kit. We are planning to distribute these kits December 14th and 15th. Students will carry them home on one of these two days. We will be sending out additional details regarding the use of the kits through School Messenger on December 13th. Families Worrying Less Together – New session beginning January 25th 2022. These are virtual sessions intended to support parents/caregivers who have children (K-6) who have excessive worries (children do not attend). FWLT Info Night Winter 2022-1 (1)
