Monday November 8th Update

Thank you to all our families for your continued vigilance with Covid Protocols. We do appreciate your signing and sending in the verification calendar each day. Effective immediately, Public Health has advised us they are cautiously agreeing to have us dispense with the verification of screening calendar. We do require screening to be done each day, and if the screener is failed, please ensure the student does not attend school but you no longer need to send the calendar back and forth signed. This measure may be required again later in the year. We will let you know if this is the case.

Tomorrow is Photo Day! Only individual photos will be taken, no class photos at this time. We are waiting on a Retake date; once the photographer confirms, we will communicate this to our families. Bring your best smile students!

Thank you for your continued support of families in our greater community. Our Fall Food Drive, organized by Student Council wraps up on November 12th. We appreciate all donations of non-perishable food items as well as personal care items. At Balaclava we aspire to make the world a better place through informed, responsible and compassionate action.

If you have not already updated your child’s information, including any contact information for parents/caregivers in the Parent Portal – please be sure to do so as soon as possible. If you are having difficulty accessing the Parent Portal, please contact our offices so we can assist you. Please remember also, to report any absences/lates/early excusal through School Messenger located on the Parent Portal.

Some families may be planning some travel in the coming weeks. Please be sure you are aware of the requirements for students to return to in person learning following travel out of the country. Children under age 12 may be exempt from quarantine but are not able to attend school for 14 days following any International travel.
