Dear families,

This morning prior to students arriving on site, a problem was detected in our water filtration system. It was determined that a command centre malfunction was preventing readings of the UV sensors in our water filtration system.

Following Board protocol, all drinking water fixtures were made inaccessible and signs were posted prior to student arrival. Drinking water stations were set up to ensure students and staff had access to drinking water while the system was being repaired. Hand washing was not affected. At no time were students or staff at risk.

Once the unit was repaired at approximately 12:00 p.m. and it was verified the system was operating properly, HWDSB’s Occupational Health and Safety staff was consulted and the system was returned to service.
