October 9th Update

As we head into the Thanksgiving weekend we have a few items to share with our families.

First, a reminder for all families that the Parent Portal is the ‘go to’ place for HWDSB families (School Cash, School Messenger, and various forms are found here).  Please be sure and visit the Parent Portal to complete the Media Consent forms for 2020-2021. For any families who are considering a change from Remote to In Person school or wishing to switch to Remote from In Person school are reminded the deadline to indicate this is October 12th by 11:59 p.m. You will find the survey on the Parent Portal.

Next, please take note of the new signage on the North side of 10th Concession along the length of our property. This shoulder is now designated a no stopping zone.

Also, for our current Grade 8 students who missed their immunizations last year due to the school closure and our current Grade 7s in need of their immunizations for this year, Public Health will be offering clinics at high schools over the course of the school year. Our tentative date for these immunizations is December 5th between 8:30 and 4:30 p.m. at Waterdown District High School. Further information will be available closer to this date.

Finally, earlier this week we shared the revised decision tools from Public Health in response to the change to the Ministry of Health Screening Tool. These have been updated slightly and are linked below. As well, there has been an additional step added to the process, an Attestation for Return to School. This is required when a student has been away from school for illness before they can return. Please find all forms linked below. Again, thank you for all the support and understanding you have shown over the first month of the 2020-2021 school year.
