September: Let us begin

We are excited to welcome our students who are attending in person school beginning on Monday September 14th. School will look a little different than when students last attended the building – and we will ensure students are instructed in all the necessary protocols to help keep everyone safe.

Based on the number of students attending Remote school we needed to re-organize the school last week (this happened across the system). This has meant some changes in class assignments and some staffing adjustments. We are awaiting placement of one Grade 1 teacher. Once confirmed, this educator will be in touch with their students’ families to welcome students to their class and confirm which of the two staggered days they will attend next week before full time attendance begins September 16th.

When students arrive on their first designated day, they will be directed to their class cohort waiting area on the west playground where they must remain until entry time. All staff will be on hand to assist with directing students to their assigned area. Students may not mix with students in other cohorts. Educators will have hand sanitizer for students to use and extra student masks in the event anyone has lost or damaged their own from home. Entry to the school will be staggered with one class at at time, and  classes maintaining a safe physical distance from others.

At dismissal time, students will be escorted to these same areas on the west blacktop to await bus loading instructions. If parents/caregivers are picking students up – you are asked to wait at the fence area close to the building. If you can make eye contact with your child they may step out of their cohort area, check in with an educator on duty and walk directly to you. If you need assistance please speak to a staff member on duty. Please maintain a safe physical distance from others and wear your mask while you are waiting.

The many protocols we have in place will change how our days look. Our goal is to implement them while maintaining or enhancing relationships so that everyone feels they belong and can be successful. Your continued support is appreciated.

When we look after our selves and we look after one another, we all have a great day!
