HALLOWE’EN
The students have been working hard during their first six weeks of school, and we are proud of the learning that they are engaged in. We know that Hallowe’en is a time that many students look forward to, and we want to be able to provide our students with some fun activities to look forward to. That said, we will need to follow board and public health guidelines as we plan for Hallowe’en this year. Here are the guidelines that have been provided to schools:
- Students can come in costumes to school. Costumes must meet the following guidelines: no weapons, no costume masks that might impede vision, no inappropriate images.
- Students should not be changing into costumes at school. Please send students already wearing their costumes.
- Student costumes must be able to accommodate a face covering as per COVID requirements
- No costume parades are permitted
- No in-person assemblies are permitted
- No sharing/distributing food or drink is permitted
- Maintain safe practices including physical distancing and hand hygiene
School council is helping the school to organize a Hallowe’en activity for each class to participate in:
- Kindergarten- Grade 2 classes will participate in a Hallowe’en dance in the gym. Classes will participate separately to ensure physical space between class cohorts.
- Grade 3-Grade 8 classes will participate in a scavenger hunt, which will include the high school field and other locations, all on school property. Classes will participate in this individually to ensure physical space between class cohorts.
We look forward to having a safe and fun Hallowe’en celebration at school with staff and students.
