Progress Reports and Interviews

Our school year is divided up into two terms:  September to January and February to June.  At the end of each term, a report card is provided to you regarding the evaluation of your child in learning skills and subject areas.  However, waiting until January to get a report on how things are going is a little late to maximize student success.  So, a Progress Report will be sent home October 30 that will give you information about how your child is doing so far.  There aren’t grades on this report; it isn’t an evaluation but an assessment of what your child’s progress looks like after six weeks of instruction.

You will have the opportunity to have an interview with your child’s teacher(s).  Each teacher will provide information about when on November 2 and/or November 3 she will be available for you to sign up for an interview.  Please remember that non-homeroom teachers (e.g. phys ed, music, etc) are also available for interviews if you would like other, subject-specific information.

New this year is a Kindergarten Program is Communication of Learning report that will be coming home on October 30 as well.  The Kindergarten teams will also be available on November 2 and/or November 3 for interviews.  This is in lieu of Kindergarten observations, which have been conducted in previous years.

If you have any questions about progress reports or to learn more about when your child’s teacher will be conducting interviews, please contact the classroom teacher.
