Letter to Families Regarding Work Required at Westmount
February 28, 2019
Dear Westmount Families,
There was an incident that occurred after hours on February 27 that involved a snow plow hitting the external wall of the school. The section of the school wall is part of the stairwell that extends from the main building.
Staff from Facilities Management responded to the scene and engineers attended the site to assess the damage. The engineer determined the extent of the damage and Facilities Management will be organizing repairs as required. Initial repairs will be completed right away in order to make the area structurally sound. Permanent repairs will be made as weather, design and regulatory approvals allow. It is expected that this process will be completed in the Spring.
We will deem the area off limits to maintain a safe area while the work is being done.
Thank you,
Geeta Malhotra
