Hold and Secure

Dear families,

This communication is to inform you that Sir Wilfrid Laurier went into a Hold and Secure response today.

A Hold and Secure response is used when an ongoing situation outside and not related to the school requires that students and staff remain in the school.

At approximately 10:10 a.m. we were informed that Hamilton Police Service was on site due to a call from the community that a dog was running free on our playground. We were advised to have all students re-enter the school. Staff initiated a Hold and Secure until the dog was secured. At around 10:15 a.m., the dog was secured and the Hold and Secure was lifted.

Students and staff remained safe.
