School Drop Off & Pick Up

As you are likely aware, our drop off and pick up times are very congested.  Our survey and our lot are not designed to handle the amount of traffic that we see.  What this means is that there is potential for accidents to happen.

We are seeking the communities cooperation by observing the following guidelines:

• Walk to school!  Walking to school is a great way to start the day and to increase physical activity
• Cross with the Crossing Guards
• Follow all posted speed/parking/stopping signage
• If driving to school, be vigilant in looking for pedestrians
• Be courteous to other drivers and school staff
• Remember we all want our students to be safe!

We have received complaints from the Recreation Centre and Wentworth Condominiums about parents parking illegally and unsafe driving (speeding, illegal turns, etc).  We are asking that all community members respect the local laws and by-laws.  We have been advised that they will be reaching out to the City to assist with Parking Enforcement and potential fines for violators.

The City of Hamilton does provide some good resources and advice for parking near schools.
