May Updates

The Staff of SWL hope that you are all doing well during this challenging time.  The switch to remote was disappointing news, but understandable considering the rising cases.

Thanks to everyone for doing your best during this time!  We have deployed almost 125 devices and we were up and rolling in no time.  Please continue to encouraging your child to sign in daily and to submit their work.  If your child will be absent from school, please notify the school via School Messenger.

As you are aware, our school will be welcoming students from Elizabeth Bagshaw in September.  It will be closing when the new Viola Desmond Elementary School opens.  A portion of our population will also be moving to the new school.  We recently held our second and final transition meeting and we are prepared for a smooth move!  Please find attached a copy of the presentation and the maps indicating which students will be going where.  Students currently living in Zone 3 and Zone 4 will be moving to the new school for September.

We are all anxiously waiting for a government announcement about when we will be returning to in-person learning.  Once we hear that news we will be able to provide more updates around Graduation, Remote to In-Person Transition, Kindergarten Orientation and any other Transition Activities we will be holding for students changing schools in September.
