School Reorganization Information For Families

Each fall, HWDSB reviews elementary student enrolment in schools, and reorganizes staffing if actual enrolment differs from spring projections. It is normal for student enrolment to fluctuate a little.

This year, the fall reorganization is more widespread due to the in-person/remote option for students, as well as the ongoing need to meet provincial class size requirements.

Specifically, at Rousseau School, the reorganization will mean:

  • The addition of a remote FDK class with an educator and a DECE partner (JSD) which will begin Oct 4, 2021*(Staff TBD)
  • An educator change for JSC—Miss Arbuckle (long term occasional staff) will be leaving the JSC FDK class as of October 1st and we welcome Ms. S. Bishop who will be joining the class as the permanent educator for the remainder of the year as of October 4, 2021.
  • Mr. Sunnucks (long term occasional staff) providing our library and prep coverage on Day 4 will be replaced by a permanent teacher who will be hired by Oct 13th and will be joining us on Day 3 am, 4, and 5 am.

I would like to take this opportunity to thank Miss Arbuckle and Mr. Sunnucks for their support of our students to date this year and wish them the very best in the future.

I apologize for any disruption this may cause and appreciate your understanding.

If you have any questions, please feel free to contact me.

Sincerely,

Tammy McLaughlin

Principal
