Dear Rousseau Families,

At Rousseau, we continue to maintain a high priority for student safety. As you may know, the City of Hamilton has been doing sewer construction along the walking path that borders the North part of our school. On the weekend, and today, they have needed to access the sewer grate on our junior playground. This space has been fenced off and marked with pylons to support student safety.

On Friday, measurements taken in the school confirmed that, despite unusual smells being reported, the air was safe to breath. Measurements were taken again today to confirm safe air quality resulting in a zero reading. We believe that the sewer work on Board property will conclude tomorrow or Wednesday at the latest and we continue to monitor this situation to support safety.
