Music Monday on May 6th! Families welcome!

Monday, May 6th @ Rousseau Gymnasium, 11:40 a.m.

Organized by the Coalition for Music Education, Music Monday is an annual national event celebrating the importance of music in our lives and especially in our schools. Rousseau is one of hundreds of schools across Canada who will participate. All Rousseua classes will participate in showcasing the music education happening in their classrooms. There will be performances by K-6 classes, Primary Choir and Junior Choir. Please join us to celebrate Music Education at Rousseau School on Monday! All are welcome!

The final performance of Music Monday is the “Music Monday Anthem”, which changes each year and is composed by a Canadian composer. This year’s anthem is by Canadian jazz luminary,  Oscar Peterson:  his iconic Hymn To Freedom, which exemplifies a deep desire for respect and equality among all people living in Canada, united as a peaceful nation. On May 6 millions of teachers, students, and community members from coast to coast to coast will participate in Music Monday 2019!
