Students Remaining in Remote Learning

Letter-Remote Remaining-Oct. 29

October 29, 2020

Dear families,

We want to thank you for your continued enrolment in the Remote Elementary Learning Program.

We wanted to let you know that because of the transition option for families in early October, we will be accepting approximately 300 more students into the Remote Elementary Learning Program.

The transition option also requires all schools within HWDSB to undergo a reorganization of classes to ensure all classes have a teacher. We have had to undergo this reorganization ourselves and will result in changes to our classrooms.

To plan for the changes of incoming students and staff reorganization, Monday, November 2 will be the last day of full instruction in its current form.

Tuesday, November 3 will be a transition day. Some students may be required to move classrooms within the Remote school to ensure balanced class sizes. We are working hard to try and keep these changes to a minimum.

Student learning on this day will be online with both their current teacher and their new teacher, if applicable. This day will see our current students working mostly on assigned tasks, as the teaching staff will also be reaching out to welcome new students to the school and their classroom.

Wednesday, November 4 will be the first full day of instruction with our new and current students and led by the new classroom teacher.

If you have any specific questions about these changes either before or after November 3, please visit our contact the school page to direct your question to the right group.

Sincerely,

Tannis Hamill
