Lincoln Alexander School – Halloween Celebrations/Activities on October 29th

On Friday, October 29th, Lincoln Alexander School will be celebrating Halloween by providing an opportunity for students and staff to wear costumes or to wear orange and black. Throughout this day, various classrooms may also be engaging in some special activities that safely adhere to Public Health/HWDSB protocols during COVID times.

Parents and caregivers are encouraged to provide a special treat(s) (peanut/nut free) along with/in their child(ren)’s lunches to celebrate this special day. Please note that these treats will be for your child only and sharing between students will not be allowed.

Please note that:

  • Students choosing to wear a costume should come to the school already wearing the costume and keep the costume on for the duration of the day. To ensure distancing, staff will not be able to assist with costumes.
  • Student costumes must be able to accommodate a face mask/covering as per COVID requirements, and students will be expected to wear these face masks throughout the day. A costume mask is not a substitute for a face covering. A costume mask should not be worn over a non-medical mask or face covering because it can be dangerous if the costume mask makes it hard to breathe.
  • Student Costumes must be appropriate for school and must not include any weapons, must not impede vision, and must not contain any inappropriate images/offensive language, etc.
  • There will be no sharing of treats/items between students allowed in any way on this day.
  • Students will not be engaging in any types of parades/visits to other classrooms as per COVID-19 protocols.
  • Students and Staff will maintain safe practices including physical distancing and hand hygiene throughout this day as per HWDSB/Public Health COVID-19 Protocols.

Thanks in advance for helping to make our October 29th Halloween clebrations/activities exciting and safe for all students and staff! If you have any questions, please feel free to contact the school.

Sincerely,

Lincoln Alexander Staff
