Operations- June
Dear Greensville families,
We are saddened to hear this week that your wonderful children will not be returning to close out the year.
This has been a tough year for everyone, and as educators- we are constantly concerned about how each child is faring.
With any luck – this move will result in a return to school in September that is freer and face-to-face.
Graduation/ Year-end Celebrations
Graduates and their families are receiving information about the drive-through ceremony we will be holding on the 23rd in our bus loop.
It will be in honour of the first year Graduating Grade 8 Class of Greensville. Mr. Adamczyk, Ms. Cuddy, Mrs. Hawins, Mrs. Sanders and Mrs. Lessard have been adapting plans due to final protocol changes for this Hallmark day. This is truly a special group of students!
From the Board updates- you have seen that students and their families will be able to pick up personal belongings on June 28 and 29th. Teachers are reaching out to families to schedule them in for pick up times. This is also a time for students to drop of any school materials, iPads or any other items that need to be dropped off. IPads/ cords / chargers will need to be dropped off for students who are currently in Remote as well. Please have the ipad labeleled with your child’s name on it.
As for the other Grades- each class will be having its own unique virtual celebration – as designed by each classroom teacher.
If you have not as of yet checked your personal emails- please see the forms I have sent to families- requesting input about our wonderful staff. Deadline for those submissions will be June 24th at the end of the day should you feel inclined to participate.
June 28 & 29 and Pick/Up Drop Off of Items
For the pick up – As in the past year- staff will need to wear PPE as we distribute items. Keep socially distanced and stay in your car, and masked. Parents will drive in with a sign indicating their child’s name.
Teachers will place the items in the trunk of your vehicle. If you have items to be dropped off- there will be a table on which you can drop off items – slightly distanced from the pick up area.
On the 28th and 29th teachers will be providing students and families with communication that informs them as to what their asynchronous work for those days will look like. Teachers will be taking attendance as well.
Staffing
More communications about staffing will be coming. Staffing will be completed by the 30th. We can share however, that sadly, Mrs. Grantham will be retiring. Mrs. Tipping will be taking a Leave of Absence, and Mrs. Sleep will be off on Maternity Leave as she is expecting her second child. We also learned this week that there will also be a third FDK class being added to our roster, and a second DECE.
Spirit Wear
Spirit Wear can only be offered in the Fall- and we will send out details for that at the beginning of the School Year.
