Principal Check-In

Good Evening Greensville Families!

I hope you are all doing well; keeping warm, keeping dry and keeping your sense of humour. Mother Nature continues to test our resolve! As a result of the most recent rainfall and flash freeze, our playground resembles that of an ice rink. As a safety precaution, I’ve had to make the difficult decision to keep students inside during some nutrition breaks. It’s certainly not ideal, as I’d much prefer to see students outside actively moving and getting some fresh air. As a work around, teachers are taking students outside for brief body breaks (i.e., guided walks). The inevitable thaw will muddy up our grounds but with proper footwear, students should be able to access the playground once again next week.

As a form of increased communication between home and school, I plan on publishing monthly editions of ‘The Eyrie’. Paying homage to our Greensville Hawks, I thought it fitting to name my posts ‘The Eyrie’, meaning hawk’s nest. I will share my posts at the end of each month with the intent of providing families a snapshot of current school events and items of interest. I trust families will enjoy reading about how Greensville staff continue to provide students with exceptional learning opportunities and experiences.

I have had a very busy three weeks since joining the Greensville team. But it has been my pleasure meeting more families and getting to know students better. Thank you for sending kind words of welcome to me. I have read each email and can assure you that your support and genuine care is so appreciated.

Have a wonderful evening and stay tuned for the first edition of ‘The Eyrie’!

Warm Regards,

Jennifer
