Update from Ms. Sanders:

I just wanted to let you know what has been going on in the Music Room and what is coming up. I will be having a student teacher, Mrs. Terpstra from Brock University helping out and doing some teaching throughout December.

We have been playing instruments and I am so happy on how well the students are doing. I have been reminding them that they need one practice per week to get better and to be successful. Some students have not handed in their instrument contract. If you haven’t seen or heard an instrument come home, please ask your child.

We have been learning to read and write music notation which included some review from the last 2 years so now we are on to some new learning. The students will be composing a playing test for themselves.

Dance class was a huge success! Each student was keen to learn and create in their groups. Of course, there was some nervous apprehension at first, but once they understood what they had to do things went very well after that.

Band and Dance Ensemble opportunities are coming up for our students as well!
