After a successful X Country run… More running :)

Greensville’s P/J  Cross Country Meet

This year Junior Cross Country will be not take place at Christie’s, instead the Athletic Department has asked the schools to run a local school cross country meet for our grades 3-5s.

The plan for Greensville is to run our meet at Johnson Tew Park on October 20th with the rain date for October 27th. All students will participate unless there is a reason that they may not (injury, parent request…).

Mrs. Kosempel’s class will be our course marshals and timers.

Students have been practicing running during P.E. (when weather cooperated).

ONLY Students who have completed Trip Forms will be permitted to participate. If you have yet to fill this in for your child- please contact your child’s teacher.

All Students will walk their route in P.E. prior to Wednesday’s race, and the the marshalls and Teaching Staff will be on hand to help the students follow their route during the meet on Wednesday, October 20th.

The recommended distance for each grade is:

• Grade 3 – 1 km

• Grade 4 – 1.5 km

• Grade 5 – 2 km

Grade 1’s will be running on the back field.

All others with completed and signed forms will be running in the park.

As per athletics guidelines- no spectators are permitted.

Please make sure your child in Grades 1-5 comes to school on the 20th( weather permitting) ready to run!
