Great start to a beautiful school

A huge thank you to parents/caregivers for helping us get off the ground this week- and for helping us get your kids to school safely every day!

Each day- drop off/ pick up goes more smoothly.

Following COVID protocols and opening a new school has been a challenge- but working together with the support of parent volunteers has been a real gift. Thank you to Mrs. VanPelt, Mrs. Toner and Mrs. Crichton for helping welcome everyone and guide families to safe spots.

A number of helpful suggestions have been received and implemented.

I had been in touch with the city about doing a Traffic and Safety Audit, and have been assured that staff will be out after a few weeks of operation to assess our situation once traffic flow is established. This will be helpful .The Board has provided us with extra teachers to do some duty around the bus loop which is very helpful. The front door loop is working well with FDK parents dropping off in their own Kiss and Ride.

Everyone’s patience and kindness have been much appreciated!! Thank you.

Most importantly, we are seeing some pretty happy faces at school. Hearing the squeals of delight coming from the FDK pen, watching basketball and soccer and snow play resume on the field, and witnessing students stepping right back into the swing of things- enjoying the gym, new spaces, and following protocols puts us in awe of your children.
