Wonderful first day

A huge thank you to families for helping make our first day such a smooth one!

It was wonderful to see smiling faces and students reconnecting with each other.  A shout out to Mr. Bader and Ms. Sanders for making it a ‘gala’ day!

We are working through and refining drop off/ pick up  practices.

Our first run went fairly smoothly, and withy great input- we will make a few tweaks.

Drop off- The front loop is being used by FDK parents who may need to park briefly and then drop off their little ones who are not bussed. The buses for the life skills classes will be moved further down for easier flow and a smoother in and out process.

All other grades (for students who are dropped off) will use the Kiss and Ride bus loop.

This was well used today. Priority was given to our buses. We appreciate your allowance for this.

We are going to ask once again that drivers refrain from passing buses that are unloading students. Technically buses cannot put up their stop signs when not on the road- but that does not make it any safer for vehicles to pass buses when students are disembarking. All it will take is for one student to exit incorrectly- and we will have a fatality on our hands.

Please DO NOT pass the buses when they are unloading.

When the bus is doing its bus check further down the driveway- cars can pass the bus- but this is still tricky because of the narrow laneway.

Please exercise caution.

Thank you to parents for using the West side corner of the playground to pick up your Grades 1-3 children ONLY. Leaving this area as uncongested as possible is much appreciated as it is our only point of entrance and exit.

A huge shout out to Mrs. Toner, Creighton and Van Pelt who were there to greet everyone this chilly morning and afternoon.

We will continue to smooth out these processes as we go. Your cooperation and patience are very much appreciated!
