School Council Meeting

Are you interested in being part the Franklin Road School Council this year?

The focus of School Council is to enhance student learning and well being through the co-operative efforts of parents and guardians, students and staff members, as well as others in the school community.

What is School Council?

• School boards in Ontario are required to establish a school council for each school.
• These councils are advisory committees and provide input to the principal or the board on any matter.
• The principal is ultimately responsible for activities related to the school and therefore is responsible for school council activities.
• The majority of members must be parents/guardians, and the chair must be a parent. You do not have to be a voting member to attend council meetings.

This year we will meet both in-person and virtually to accommodate families.

During our first meeting on October 26^th we were unable to complete the election process so we invite all interested parents to join us on November 7^th  at 6:30 in the library to confirm our voting members and council roles.  If you are unable to attend in person, you may join through Microsoft Teams by clicking this link.  Nomination forms can be submitted before the meeting or completed at the meeting.
