December 2024 Principal’s Message
Dear Parents, Guardians, and Caregivers:
As we approach the holiday season, I want to take a moment to wish you and your families a joyous and relaxing break. This is a special time of year to gather with loved ones, reflect on the past months, and recharge for the year ahead. I hope your holiday is filled with moments of connection, laughter, and peace.
I also want to express my heartfelt gratitude for the warm welcome you have extended to me as I joined the Dundas Valley Secondary School community this semester. I continue to be amazed by the incredible accomplishments of your teens—both in their academic pursuits and in their participation in sports teams, clubs, and other extracurricular activities. Their talent, determination, and dedication make this school a truly remarkable place.
Looking ahead to the new year, a reminder that exam/culminating task season is quickly approaching. Not all courses will have an exam, but all students will be expected to attend an “Exam Day” for each of their classes to carry out an end of semester evaluation (exam, culminating task, reflection etc.). Exam Days will be held from January 23 to 28, with a make-up day on January 29, if needed. Please encourage your teens to check their course HUBs to ensure they are caught up on any outstanding work before returning to school. Culminating activities will be starting in the new year (if they haven’t already), and completing any outstanding tasks will be an important step toward their end of semester preparation.
Thank you for your continued partnership and support of our school community. Wishing you and your loved ones a wonderful holiday season filled with rest, joy, and renewal. I look forward to all we will accomplish together in 2025!
Warmest regards,
Mrs. K. Collier
