A Few Friendly Reminders from DVSS
This message was shared with the Dundas Valley Secondary School community via School Messenger on October 29, 2024
Good afternoon parents, guardians and caregivers:
I wanted to share 3 important reminders for dates that will be coming up shortly:
Friday November 1st – PD day – There is no school for students. PD learning for staff will be focused around upholding the Ontario Human Rights Code, creating equitable learning opportunities for every student, and anti-racism.
Tuesday November 5th – School Council Meeting starting at 6:30pm. Please feel free to join us either face-to-face at the school (meet in the library), or online. An MS Teams link will be sent out later this week. Thank you again to Zoey Heeney and Rebecca Hoo for stepping into the role as our co-chairs, and to Cathy Veldman for her role as our secretary.
Wednesday November 6th – Take Our Kids To Work Day for Grade 9 Students. On this day, grade 9 students are encouraged to shadow a trusted relation (arranged by family/caregiver) in the workplace. For our grade 9 classes, there will be no new learning at school in order to facilitate students missing the day while they are at a worksite. If you are arranging to have your student take part in this worksite shadowing, please call in to our office your “parent approved” absence so that your student is not marked “unexplained” for the day.
Sincerely,
Kim Collier
