Eligibility:

Students who are in grades 11, 12, or 12+ are eligible to write the test.  (Students in grade 10 will write in the Spring).

Attendance:

Students must attend both days to complete the test.

The test begins at 9 am and should take 1 hour to complete.  All students have extra time (if needed) to complete each session. Students should check their HWDSB emails for details on where they will write the test.  Students with IEPs should check in with Learning Resource Teacher to ensure they will have the proper accommodations.  Exceptions can be made for special circumstances for a student to write both Sessions in one day.  Parents / Guardians must contact VP Vacca to make arrangements.

 Students will have an opportunity to write a practice test between November 6-16 during school time – they will miss class to do this.  Students can also access the online practice test at any time using this link: OSSLT Fall Practice Test.  The practice test helps students become familiar with the content, question types, writing excerpt and tools available to use during the test.

Students should be using their school device to complete the test.  The Safe Exam Browser (SEB) must be installed.  Personal laptops could also be used, but again, require the SEB.  Personal cell phones will not be suitable as the testing platform is not formatted for phones.
