Welcome to our School Council page for Balaclava School! We thank you for your interest.
The purpose of the Balaclava School Council is to improve student learning and achievement through the active participation of parents and guardians who come together to shape our children’s experience at school.
It is a place to learn about what is happening in our school community as it relates to our children’s education. It is also a way for parents and guardians to voice their opinions, and to be heard and understood regarding Balaclava School and School Board matters.
We come together to brainstorm ways to keep our children learning in a caring, safe, and fun environment; to make sure every child feels inspired, included, capable, and proud. As parents and care-givers, we need to advocate for what we feel is important to our children and their education. Together, with school staff, we strive to be positive leaders and make Balaclava School the best place to learn.
Feel free to attend one of our meetings or assume a position on Balaclava School Council, the door is always open. We meet bi-monthly. Dates are posted on this webpage to ensure you have the most up-to-date information. Minutes are posted here also if you cannot join us in person but would like to stay informed.
