Balaclava Update – Our Last Day

And that’s a wrap! The end of the 2024-2025 school year is now here and we wish you all a happy, safe, relaxing summer.

Thank you to all of our Balaclava families who help make this such a wonderful school community. You send us some great kids every day and we look forward to seeing them back here in September.

An extra big thank you to the members of the Balaclava Home and School Association, the Balaclava School Council and all of the volunteers who have helped in so many capacities this year. There is a year end update about the School Council posted today on the School Council page, if you are interested.

To the students and families we are saying goodbye to, we wish you well in your next adventure. We will also be saying goodbye to several of our staff members here:  Ms. Spada, Ms. Peterson, Mme Gower, Mrs. McIntosh, and Mrs. Kawamura will all be moving to different positions elsewhere in the school board. Our staffing complement for 2025-2026 is not quite finished yet, but will be posted on the school website at the end of August.

For Grade 1 to 8 students, school will begin on Tuesday September 2nd at 9:15 a.m.  We will gather on the bus drop off playground between 9 and 9:15 a.m.. There will be staff out there helping students get to their proper line for their new classes.

New JK and new-t0-school SK students will have a visit scheduled on September 2nd but all JK and SK students will officially start on Wednesday September 3rd.

Information about class assignments will be posted in the parent portal the week of August 25th.

The school office will be closed after this week and will re-open again August 25th.
