Balaclava School – Week of June 2 to 6
This is it – the start of the last month of the school year! The year has really flown by. We’re doing our best around here to squeeze in more learning and memories for our students in the next few weeks.
A reminder that this Friday – Friday June 6th – is a PA day and there is no school for students. Educators will be working on assessment and reporting in preparation for Term 2 Report Cards, which will go home June 25th.
This week we will have our first Fire Drill of the spring. We are required to complete three school day Fire Drills each spring. The students and staff managed our three fall drills exceptionally well and these are expected to similarly go smoothly.
With the end of May comes the end of the Home and School regularly scheduled food days. However, this week will feature two make up days due to snow day cancellations earlier in the year. Tuesday is a booster juice make up day (from the February 13th snow day) and Thursday is a sub day make up day (from the snow day February 6th). If your child was to receive booster juice/subs back on those dates, they will receive it this week. Thank you to all of the Home and School executive and volunteers who make food days happen all year long – they are so appreciated!
