Balaclava School – Week of May 26 -30

Thank you to all of the families who ran, volunteered for, donated to, and attended the Home and School Fun Fair on Thursday. The weather was rainy but a fun time was still to be had!

JungleSport

This week sees more excitement at Balaclava. The JungleSport climbing gym will be set up in our gymnasium for the entire week. Classes will attend several times through the week to participate in age-appropriate climbing activities under the supervision of the JungleSport team and school staff.  This activity has been sponsored by the Balaclava Home and School so no student or family has been charged for this experience.

It is important to note that safety measures must be met for students to participate. Please remember:

-students must be wearing appropriate clothing and footwear to participate. This is not the week to wear slides to school!

-long hair must be secured. Devices (e.g. hair pins, elastics, barrettes) used to tie back long hair must not present a safety concern.

Dental Screening – JK, SK, Gr 2

On Thursday, May 29th, Hamilton Public Health’s registered Dental Hygienists and Certified Dental Assistants will provide oral screening for JK, SK and Gr 2 classes at Balaclava.

Parents/guardians of students in all other grades can request a screening for their child by sending a written request to [email protected] before Thursday.
