Balaclava School Update – Week of February 3

Thank you for your patience so far this week as we navigate some “old fashioned” school days, with limited access to our online programs and supports!

We are now able to access many of the systems and programs that support student attendance and instruction, as well as communication systems.

This week we welcomed Chef a LÉcole here to cook with classes 45A, 56A and 56B. Our students had a blast. Many thanks to our Home and School for funding the experience and to our parent/guardian volunteers who helped provide guidance to support a successful day.

Primary Concert

We are just over a week away from our Primary Concert. Students from classes JSA (Marshall), JSB (Tudor), 12A (Gilbank), 12B (Moase), 12C (Barrett), 3A (Button), 34A (Cassidy) and 4A (Wynne) will be participating. Parents/guardians of participating students are invited to attend on Thursday February 13th at 2:15 p.m.  We will be opening the doors to invite family members in to sit down beginning at 1:55 p.m., once our nutrition break is completed. Please note that we will not have the seating space to invite older siblings down from other classes for this performance. Our older classes will be watching the dress rehearsal earlier in the day.

If you have a child in grade 45A through to 78C, don’t worry! Their chance to perform will occur later in the spring.

Yearbooks are on Sale!

School Cash Online now features the 2024-2025 Balaclava Yearbook. Order your copy before the end of April, for delivery in late June. All students with school media consent will be featured in the yearbook.

Movie Night Postponed

Our Eco Team have another Movie Night planned. NOTE: due to the upcoming election, our original date (February 27th) has not been approved and we will now be holding our event on March 27th. We’ll open up reservations to book a spot at the end of February.
