Balaclava Update – Week of November 18
Thank you to all of the families who have been working to update consent forms (media consent, device consent, student verification and early school closure) in the Parent Portal. It is important that these forms are completed every year. If you need assistance accessing these forms, please contact the school office.
This week you will see Progress Reports coming home for all students on Tuesday (Nov 19th). You still have time to book an interview with your child’s teacher for Thursday (Nov 21st) or Friday (Nov 22nd). See the link in the email you received for more details. We’ll display our mountain of lost and found items on those days too if you would like to take a look for lost treasures while you are here. Don’t forget that, due to these interviews, Friday is a PA Day for students (no school).
Monday (Nov 18th) is our second School Council meeting of the year. Any parent/guardian of a current Balaclava student is welcome to attend. We meet in the school library at 6 p.m.
Smile! Wednesday (Nov 20th) is Photo Retake Day. Let your child’s teacher know if you want your child to get photo retakes.
We are very excited about our first Balaclava Family Movie night on Thursday November 28th. If you are interested in joining us, as a family or just dropping the kids off, please go on school cash online and order your combos by November 21st. Yes, you heard me right… You are welcome to come as a family or enjoy a few hours to yourself and just drop them off!! We will be watching the movie IF. Payment is only available on school cash online. No late orders will be accepted. This night will be the launch of our winter food drive for the Flamborough Food Bank, so please remember to bring a non-perishable food item with you! Hope to see many of you there!
