Thank you one and all for your patience and understanding as we work through new protocols and practices to safely re-open our schools. We understand with the rotating bus route plan released by the HWSTS this week the need for parents/caregivers to drive will continue to be an issue around entry and dismissal times. Our adjustment to the bus routine for dismissal to allow further access to the parking lot seems to be working a little better. We also expect our parking lot to be repainted this weekend. In addition, the City of Hamilton will be adding signage on the north side of the 10th Concession – making it a no stopping zone for the length of our property. Please continue to use extreme caution when walking children through our parking lot to your parked vehicles (in our parking lot, or on the south side of the 10th Concession). We ask that parents/caregivers who are picking up at dismissal time leave the property once children are collected. Please do not congregate to visit with others. NOTE: all visitors to HWDSB schools are required to wear face masks (this includes parents/caregivers picking children up at the end of the day).

Please continue to refer to the Decision Guide COVID At Home Protocol (1) and the My Child Has COVID Symptoms forms to assist in next steps should your child/ren display symptoms of COVID. We have greatly appreciated the diligence with which families have been following the daily screen protocol and subsequent steps as required. Effective immediately, anyone who is needing to book a COVID test may do so online at: www.hamiltoncovidtest.ca

We work hand in hand with Public Health and have a Public Health COVID support nurse connected to our school community. Should we have a positive case at an HWDSB school we will follow contact tracing procedures and anyone who has potentially been exposed will be notified directly. There will also be a letter posted to our school website and a school messenger call out for the community.

Please remember to use School Messenger to report all absences, lates, and excused early details. School Messenger is located on the Parent Portal. If you are having any difficulty accessing the Parent Portal, please email [email protected]. As a last resort you can write a note in the student agenda to be shown to your child’s teacher.

Thank you for your continued support.
