Front Door Protocol

Good Afternoon Adelaide Hoodless Families,

It is hard to believe we are already in the middle of October.  This year is going by so quickly.

We wanted to take the time to remind you of our processes for dropping off or picking up children or items such as lunches or clothing.  In order to keep our students and staff safe we limit caregiver access to the school during the instructional day.  Our front door is locked between 8:50 and 3:10.  Please use the doorbell video system to alert the office to your presence.

If you are dropping off items, you will be asked to place it on the small table just inside the front door.  A staff member will ensure your child receives it at a time that is least disruptive to the learning.  Please limit item drops for urgent situations only, such as a change of clothes or shoes. We recognize that mornings can get busy and sometimes we forget to pack lunches or other items.  However, it is important we limit any disruption to the routines of the school day.

If you are dropping off or picking up a child after entry or before dismissal, please ring the bell.  You will be asked your child’s name and the door will be unlocked for the child to enter.  It is not necessary for you to walk your child to class.  A staff member is always available to walk a student to class if required.

If you must enter the school for any reason you must come to the office and sign in.  We are required to maintain a visitors log.

We want to maintain a safe learning environment for all.  Limiting access during the day allows us to do this.

Our office is a very busy place.  If your call in to the office isn’t answer immediately, please be patient.  We will answer your call as soon as we can.

Thank you for your understanding.  Have a wonderful weekend.

N. Simpson – Principal

M. Seo – Vice-Principal
