Welcome Back

Welcome Back Adelaide Hoodless Families,

We hope you had a safe and restful summer.  The weather was certainly very summery.

School begins tomorrow, Tuesday September 6,  for grades 1-8.  Supervision will begin at 8:35 on the main playground.  Although we do not have cohort areas this year, students will line up in class specific areas for entry.  Classroom teachers will greet classes on the playground.  Tomorrow, all staff will be present with signs indicating their name and class code.

Ms. Scouten, our CYCP, will be hosting a table on Maplewood with class lists in case you are not sure who you child’s teacher is.  Ms. Scouten also has  a limited supply of backpacks to give away.  If you need a backpack, please see Ms. Scouten.

Our priority is student safety.  Please do not accompany your child to their class area.  We recognize students new to Adelaide and students entering grade one may be feeling a little overwhelmed.  We will have lots of staff available to support with entry.  Staff will also have class lists to help direct you to the correct location on the playground. Our playground is small and our population is growing.  It is difficult to safely supervise students on a playground crowded with adult caregivers.

At the end of the day, staff will dismiss students from the playground.  Staff remain on the playground until 3:25 to provide supervision.

Thank you in advance for your patience as the first day can sometimes be hectic and emotional for everyone!  We are excited to begin this school year in a more normal manner.

Please visit the school website regularly for updates and information.

Yours in Education,

Nanci Simpson-Principal
