Welcome Back!

Dear Adelaide Hoodless Families,

I hope you all had a restful and fun March Break.  We had some incredible weather.  The upcoming forecast looks like spring is really here.

I am sure many of you have many questions as we move into this next phase of the pandemic.  Communication will come directly from the HWDSB regarding lifting of protocols.  Mask exception forms can be found in the parent portal.

We are going to run entry and dismissal in the same way we have been doing for the past year as we have found it allows us to have a very safe and controlled start and end to the school day.  Students will enter the playground off of Springer Avenue, except for classes 7/8A and 8A who will enter through the front doors.  Students may mix with other cohorts until the warning bell rings at 8:45.  At the warning bell we ask that students gather in their designated cohort area.  At 8:50 the entry bell will ring and teachers will come and pick up their classes.  At 3:10 teachers will bring their classes to the playground cohort areas and will dismiss as per past practice.

We ask that parents/caregivers wait on the sidewalk on Springer to pick up their children.  This allows us to monitor who is on the playground.  Student safety is our priority.

FDK will enter and exit as per past practice.

We do ask that students who are not picked up by parents to go home before returning to the school playground.  Our playground is used by the Before and Aftercare Program as well as our extra-curricular sports programming until 4:00 pm.

Adelaide has such a strong sense of community and respect for others.  Although there are many unknowns at this point, I do know our resilience and strength will get us through any challenge we may encounter.

Take care and I look forward to seeing everyone tomorrow.
