Fire Alarm and Brief Evacuation

Dear families,

I am writing to inform you that we briefly evacuated our school today due to a fire alarm.

When the alarm rang at about 11:45 a.m., we immediately evacuated and went to our evacuation site at Ryerson United Church.

All students were safe during the evacuation. Students were only briefly outside without winter clothing.

The fire department was notified and quickly arrived on scene. At about 11:56 a.m., fire officials told us it was safe for students and staff to return to the building. We admitted students and resumed our regular school operations.

We wish to thank Hamilton Fire Department for their response, as well as our staff for their leadership during this situation.
