Letter to Parents/Guardians

Dear Parents/Guardians,

This letter is to inform you about an incident that took place earlier today. We had maintenance staff working on the floor in rooms 127 and 129. The worker drilled into vinyl tiles that could contain asbestos. Staff immediately identified the issue and the classes were moved into another area of the school.

While we do not expect staff and students were exposed, we are taking all the necessary precautions. The rooms have been sealed and we have placed signs on the classroom doors so no one enters, other than authorized personnel.

Our Facilities Management department has engaged Pinchin Environmental to conduct air and material samples. We expect to have the results of the tests by the end of the week. The rooms will remain locked until testing has been completed.

Classes in rooms 127 and 129 will be held in the Library and French Room until we receive the results of the testing and the rooms thoroughly cleaned.

I appreciate your patience and understanding as we work to resolve this issue. If you have any questions, please do not hesitate to give me a call at the school at 905-648-6142.
