Principal Announcement

Dear Spring Valley Community:

At the beginning of March, I informed the School Council that I would be retiring at the end of this school. I had intended to post an announcement to the school community about a new principal appointment, but the shutdown happened. This put all such matters on hold for the Board.

Today, I am pleased to announce that Mrs. Barb McVittie has been appointed as the new Principal at Spring Valley for the next school year. Mrs. McVittie is currently the Vice-Principal at Rockton Elementary (Beverly Central Site) and has been extensively involved in that community’s evolution and move to the new school. Mrs. McVittie is an experienced administrator who has a strong background in Special Education and with Intermediate students. Spring Valley is very fortunate to have her join the Spring Valley community.

I want to thank the Spring Valley community for the support I have encountered during my time at CH Bray and Spring Valley. It has been a pleasure to have worked with all the staff, students and families I have encountered over the past three years. I am sure the community will continue to grow and develop into an even greater and stronger school in the years to come. Best wishes to you all.
